Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.
Several individuals were injured while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to water systems, per reports from local authorities.
At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by local officials.
Russian forces has intensified attacks on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.
"What's needed is not window dressing but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the major economies - in delivering defensive weapons and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a public message.
Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles struck the country's power systems, labeling such strikes as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.
The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were laboring to fix the damage.
A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.
Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by city authorities.
Local officials said the urban area endured significant strikes overnight. A seven-year-old child died and several individuals were wounded.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting gas facilities.
